Agreement and eligibility

These Terms of Use form a binding agreement between you and Penlify. By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. If local law requires a higher minimum age, that age applies. If you use the service for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly notify us of unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may not share, sell, transfer, or create accounts through automated means.

The service and AI output

Penlify provides automated writing assistance and probabilistic AI-text detection. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unsuitable. Detection scores are estimates and must not be treated as proof that a person did or did not use AI.

You are responsible for reviewing all output and for how you use it. The service is not legal, medical, financial, academic-integrity, employment, or other professional advice.

Your content

You retain ownership of text you submit and, as between you and Penlify, any rights you may have in generated output. You grant us a limited, worldwide license to host, process, transmit, and reproduce your content only as needed to provide, secure, and improve the service and comply with law.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit your content. Do not submit confidential, highly sensitive, regulated, or personal information unless you are authorized to do so and accept the risks of AI processing.

Acceptable use

You may not use Penlify to:

• Break the law, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, or violate another person’s contractual duties.
• Create or distribute malware, phishing, fraud, impersonation, spam, or deceptive content.
• Exploit or harm minors, facilitate violence, or generate unlawful sexual content.
• Bypass usage limits, interfere with security, scrape the service, reverse engineer protected components, or overload our systems.
• Misrepresent AI-generated work as your own where disclosure is required by a school, employer, publisher, platform, or law.

Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans renew automatically for the billing period shown at purchase unless canceled before renewal. Prices, taxes, included features, and usage limits are shown before checkout and may change for future billing periods with notice where required.

Payments and subscription management are handled through Stripe. You can cancel through the billing portal at any time. Cancellation stops future renewal but normally does not refund the current billing period. Refunds are provided when required by law.

Intellectual property

The app, branding, software, interface, and service content—excluding your content—belong to Penlify or its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a terms violation, security risk, legal requirement, nonpayment, abuse, or service discontinuation.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Penlify and its providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or losses caused by reliance on AI output. Our total liability for a claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50.

Changes, governing rules, and contact

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service or law. If you do not agree to updated terms, stop using the service before they take effect.
